It's normal to dream big in the early days of a weight loss journey...

Unfortunately, it’s also common for those big dreams to feel SO BIG that you don’t even know where to start.

Sound familiar? Coach Natasha has been there. Many of our over 100 V Shred coaches experienced their own rocky roads on the way to fitness and nutrition expertise! In this open and honest video lesson, Natasha shares the lessons of her own journey, which helped her lose over 70 pounds and transform her life top-to-bottom. 

It all starts with asking yourself these three big questions…

1. What habits define your day?

In many ways, we are our habits. Our habits can be psychological or emotional, like the way we talk to ourselves, or how we tend to perceive certain situations, or they can be more physical habits, like exercising daily, or using the stairs instead of the elevator. 

Habits have momentum that can build up for years–decades, even–and feel immensely overwhelming to change. But our V Shred coaches and successful clients know they definitely can change. 

There’s a catch, though: habits rarely change by accident! The most positive, lasting behavior and habit changes happen by choice, and with intention. 

2. What does your lifestyle "gap" look like?

As Natasha explains, the “gap” is what is in between our current self, and who we want to be in the future. 

Think about the best possible version of yourself. What words describe that person? What does that person do and enjoy? What does their daily routine look like? 

Are they someone who could confidently say, “I am fit, I am healthy, I am happy” every day. Yes, they are! Maybe one of YOUR habits should be repeating that mantra on a daily basis as well! 

3. What one healthy habit could you add into your current daily routine?

For Natasha, initially her habit was just 5 min. per day on an elliptical machine. Then it slowly, naturally grew to 10 min… then 20… and eventually included meal prep, weight training, and all the elements of a sustainable healthy lifestyle that has held strong for over 16 years since!  

So what can your healthy habit be? Write down

Think of your future self. What are they doing that you could begin to implement? If you’re already working out on a regular basis, it could be something that SUPPORTS that goal. Like turning your phone off at 8 pm every night to improve your sleep, or drinking 80 oz. of water (or water with flavorings from something like Sculptnation BCAAs or Greens) each day. Or even getting sugary snacks out of the house for the next four weeks!

Take your time, and pick one your habit. Then focus on making it stick for the next four weeks. You can do it! 

Be forgiving of your missteps, celebrate your victories, and keep moving forward. That’s how you create habits that last!
