So where do you start? Try these three simple rituals that are easy to integrate into your evening routine. Our V Shred Custom Coaching & Nutrition trainers have heard that they’re transformative for our members, delivering better results, all-day energy, and rest better at night!
Step 1. Start the night off with a walk
Building in some “wind down” time is a crucial part of building a better nighttime. The best way to do it? Start your evening with a short, relaxing walk.
To be clear, we’re not talking about exercise here! This is a chance to clear you head, breath deep, process your day, and put it behind you.
And the benefits aren’t just mental! There’s solid research showing that a post-meal walk can help with your digestion… and even help you store LESS of what you eat as bodyfat.
So yeah, there’s really no downside here. This is something our coaches recommend ALL THE TIME, and people tell us they really start to look forward to it each day
Step 2. Respect your bedtime
Be honest: What’s your bedtime? If you don’t have one, well, it’s about time you did!
Especially if you’re exercising hard and watching what you eat, getting bedtime nailed down can be the thing that makes all the other things work better. And the science definitely backs that up.
The time you choose is up to you and your lifestyle. But stick to it! A great way to help it “stick” is to take Burn PM an hour or so before you’d like to turn in. Even better, turn of your phone at the same time. Once the Burn kicks in, it’s lights out!
Step 3. Put tomorrow in the books
Ever feel like you’re doing all the right things, you might occasionally find yourself staring at the ceiling thinking about all those things you’ll need to do tomorrow.
Sound familiar? Consider following Vince’s recommendation and using a journal. He’ll write the top six things he needs to accomplish the next day in it, then turn of the light and be done!
And no, it doesn’t have to just be work! Other things he recommends including in your journal include:
- The workout you want to do
- The meals you plan on eating
- The supplements you want to take
Anything that’s truly important to you is worth putting down and making official!
