What To Do After You Finish a Program

It’s a triumphant feeling to finish your first full workout program—no matter if it’s just 30 days 90 days, or somewhere in between.

There’s nothing quite like it! But with all the good vibes comes an inevitable and intimidating question… 

What do you do now?!

You have several good options, and after all the hard work you’ve put in, you’ve earned the right to make the choice for yourself! So let’s discuss what NOT to do at this point, and what the most common routes that V Shred members choose after finishing one of our programs!

The Risks of the Post-Program "Blues"

This is a moment of triumph for sure, and one worth celebrating! But it’s also a moment where it’s easy to lose momentum, leaving you frustrated and wondering what went wrong. Here are the most common ways our trainers see people falter after finishing a program.  

Losing focus. Once you’re out of a systematic workout, it’s easy to slip into doing occasional, half-hearted workouts. Before you know it, the gains you’ve made slip away and “getting serious” again sounds like a huge undertaking!

Going full “reward mode.” It’s totally normal to celebrate achieving a hard-earned goal. But if you’re diving into the buffet for a week after finishing your program, it’s not going to make you feel good!

Decision paralysis. The thought of figuring out what to do can become so intimidating that you end up doing… nothing! A few weeks go by, and then you’ve lost momentum. 

 That last one is where we can help the most. Here are two tried-and-true options for what to do next! 

Option 1: Do your program again… only better!

It’s a good fit for you if: If you’re early in your journey or still feel like you haven’t “mastered” the program, this is a great choice for you! If you started with a specific goal like weight loss and you’ve made progress… but still haven’t reached your personal goal weight… repeating a program can also be a great choice!

This is the option we hear about most from our dramatic transformations.
