Whether you want to exercise at home because the gym intimidates you, or are working out from home because of shutdowns — we have a full body home HIIT workout for you that only takes 6 minutes to complete!

HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training. Essentially, these are really short workouts where you alternate between short bursts of ALL OUT calorie-blasting exercises and short recovery periods. 

If you are a beginner, we know the words HIGH INTENSITY can sound intimidating, but keep reading!!

HIIT is for every fitness level! We designed a HIIT workout just for beginners and walk you through every single move!

You will want to incorporate this exercise style because it is shown to torch tons of calories in a short amount of time. Many studies even suggest it is more effective for weight loss than longer, less intense workouts!

HIIT is hands down our favorite training method here at V Shred.  It is adaptable to all fitness levels and incorporates a different HIIT workout each day!

Here is  FREE HIIT WORKOUT that we designed specifically for anyone new to HIIT!

It only takes 6 minutes to complete, and we give an option for an easier movement if you find the original too difficult. 

Give it a try a few times a week, and you will be ready to move on to more advanced HIIT workouts in no time!


You will perform each exercise listed below for 40 seconds, going as hard as you possibly can! Then you will rest for 20 seconds before moving on to the next exercise!

Once you finish all 6 exercises – you are done! 


Bodyweight Squats (Squats Jumps if possible)
Knee Pushups (Regular if possible)
Standing Knee Raises (High Knees if possible)
Glute Bridges (Add a crunch in between each if possible)
Mountain Climbers
Plank (Plank Jacks if possible)

Beginner, intermediate, or even professional – if you want to make the most of your workout time, a HIIT workout is no doubt one of the best forms of exercise you can do.

Just make sure you are pushing yourself HARD during the work periods. When the 40 seconds of work is up, you should feel like you really need every second of the 20 seconds of rest!

That said, while HIIT workouts should be intense, if you are a beginner, don’t push too hard too fast! This could result in injuries! Focus on using proper form, getting your heart rate up, and listening to your body
